POM Group acquires Mind2Pay

ALBLASSERDAM, 11-09-2024 – The Dutch fintech company POM Group officially acquired Mind2Pay as of September 11. Mind2Pay, which develops rent collection software for housing corporations, will remain an independent entity within POM Group. Both parties are excited about the acquisition, with POM Group CEO Kees Neven stating, "Our companies complement each other perfectly."

POM Group takes over Mind2Pay

For POM, this acquisition increases its market share and strengthens its position as a provider of debt management software in the Dutch housing corporation sector. "The acquisition aligns with our ambition to become a leading European player in payment and collection solutions," said Neven.

A Perfect Addition

POM believes that this acquisition will allow it to better serve the housing corporation market. "In the Netherlands, we have around seventy housing corporations in our portfolio," Neven continues. "With the POM platform, housing corporations can collect more effectively, efficiently, and socially. While POM focuses on communication, Mind2Pay specializes in rent collection, including case management. Mind2Pay provides rent collection employees with complete insight into the situation of individual, vulnerable tenants. Our companies complement each other perfectly, both in terms of market and product."

Integrating POM Solutions

Mind2Pay CEO Wim Brugman agrees wholeheartedly, stating, "POM excels in tenant communication, adding smart features that let you know not only when someone receives and opens a message but also their preferred channel. By integrating these solutions into Mind2Pay's software, we professionalize communication and improve our product. Clients who want to can take advantage of these features, but we also offer flexibility for clients who prefer another communication provider."

Future-Proofing

This collaboration brings numerous advantages to both parties. Interestingly, Mind2Pay was not actively seeking acquisition offers just a year ago. "Until, within a month, we received offers from different directions," Brugman explains. "That made us think."
The conclusion: an acquisition would be a good step for the future of Mind2Pay. However, not all potential partners fit Brugman’s vision of an ideal acquisition. "We wanted a partner who would complement our proposition, knowledge, and expertise so we could grow stronger together."

Seven months and many discussions later, POM emerged as the ideal acquisition partner for Mind2Pay. "Our customers know us for our personal contact, short lines of communication, and high level of service," Brugman adds. "We find that important because customers want to feel heard. At POM, we see the same culture and share the same energy to put the customer first."

Independent Within the Group

After the acquisition, Mind2Pay will continue to operate as an independent company within POM Group. For customers and employees, nothing will change in principle. "We will continue to focus exclusively on rent collection," Brugman promises. "As specialists, we speak the language of the Rent Collection Department of housing corporations. That's our strength, and we won’t deviate from it."
POM Group will, however, explore whether Mind2Pay’s software can be adapted for other sectors under POM’s umbrella. "Energy companies, for example, and perhaps also internationally," Neven says. "I see possibilities there, and we will certainly explore them."
